What's with the lack of greenery? It seems as though everything surrounding that concrete jungle is nothing but sand. I see a few patches on the bottom right.

Some trees and some grass would add a nice touch.

Doesn't look like a livable city (to me).

A big part of the picture can be still considered as a construction site... The greenery will be added when it is all finished. But hello, Dubai is in a desert, do you expect miles of lush 50-year old forests?

So is Vegas, but they've added greenery, and you can't tell you're in the desert until you leave the entire city walk area. Anyway, like someone mentioned, it does have a sense of being unlivable, I don't know what it is, but i've never been their, so who knows.

Seems like an interesting place to visit though.

I hope you're only joking! Tel aviv has a mediterranean climate, dubai an arid one.
The few plants you see in dubai are heavily watered!

What a beast! The Index looks incredible from just about every angle! One of the all time great designs IMHO!

The podium works seem to be much slower that the works on the tower itself.

Hopefully they will decide to paint that huge concrete wall and put nice landscping on top of the structure and around it, otherwise it is a little bit disappointing.

But great update and good progress

Hey! First pictures from Rose Rotana!
So the hotel is open for the public, I guess. Is this an observation floor or restaurant at around 230m, Imre?
Btw. I'd expected the Index a little taller from there... looks more like around 315m than 328m to me.
