The height of 490 feet would hardly be noticed on Manhattan, so I'd be careful with this comparison

Over here we don't drive trucks because we pay triple gas rates compared to North America

They are easily high enough for cars. No problem.

Well, that depends on how you look at it. Rotterdam is part of a metropolitan area of approximately 1.2 mill. Quite big, and part of the Randstad Metropool, with a population of 7 million people. Its situated in the most densely part of the Nederlands.
