Okay part 2, and the final part of my little walk yesterday...

This part goes from the lovely Frederiksberg Park - my favorite park in Copenhagen - and down Falkoner Alle ( previusly known for tons of computer stores, now only the best and cheapest are left ) Then we turn left down Godthåbsvej, and finish of with a funny house. Enjoy!

Frederiksberg Palace

Copenhagen Zoo - the wildest place in town - or so they say

The main entrance is fairly new...

The view downtown from Valby Hill

The view over Valby and the Carlsberg towers

Frederiksberg Palace

The Palace view over the park

The downtown cluster again

A small penthouse is all I ask...

Frederiksberg City Hall in the distance and the chinese pagoda

Eww nature

Frederiksberg Palace, now part of the Army's Officer School

How romantic

Birdflue central...

King Frederik VI

Building by the main entrance

Out of the park and onto Falkoner Alle

Upscale living

Frederiksberg City Hall

Downtown Frederiksberg

Radisson SAS Hotel

Irma City Mini Market

Frederiksberg Mall

3 floors 76 stores and a metro station

Time to turn left on Godthåbsvej

Nice Audi

And finally a little strange house with the car to match

Very nice. I cant believe how much the park has changed since the winter pics...Frederiksberg is great, though i prefer the smaller streets and houses, or Østerbro....I have to find the time to do some more walking myself. To bad i dont have a cam anymore...

oh, btw, loved the new audi...damn thats a sweet ride...

Never - it will be a cold day in heck before I venture into military area, overrun with drug addicts, old hippies and the skum of the earth, ewww!

They are - I tried to find their name, but failed - I'm sure someone nerdier than me knows it

But whatever it is, it's been heavily modified to look like that - and the result is ofcause fit for a king

Thanks for the (part 2) tour, Mr_Denmark..Great pics once again.

I strongly believe that the heavily trimmed trees in Frederiksberg park is called "Lime trees" (Lindetræer)

Especially not the red brick ones!

However, when it comes to all things important we are right on the top of the scale - we just need some real scrapers

And there are more to a city than it's downtown ( did I really say that.. hmm )

About the winter it seems to me you are a bit uninformed... yes our winters are cold by global standards, but for out location as far north as we are, we have the best and warmest weather by far - thanks to the lovely gulfstream

We do get some days with snow in the winter, normally it disapear on inpact with the ground, but this year was a bit different

But we are still not suffering the curse that is snow, for much more than one-two weeks a year, the rest of the time we have partially sunny and reasonable warm weather - especially for our location.

So while our brothers in the north, and central Europe is covered in the evil white blanket, we tend to go free thank's to our location and the fact that we are covered by water.

As you may have already seen ( posted by Sideshow_Bob ) I made a winter thread ( and a complication with my favs http://skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=334741 ) and eventhough the sun hangs low and temps are between 5-15C in the winter I think you will still agree that the city is very livable.

However for tourists I will strongly recomend the summer!
(but our X-mas shopping aint bad either )
Guys, you don't need to have scrapers to "show your "development". In your countries (Scandinavian, western europe, etc) you don't have as much scrapers as we have in Latin America or Asia, but your standard of living is the best of the world!... If the Asian countries have so many scrapers is because they are so many that they can barely fit in the same city. Your cities look so neat, clean, organized, different from the crowded and and dirty latin american and asian cities.

I agree. But I disagree also! I think skyscrapers is a fairly modern thing in architecture, only 100 years or so. It has been a big success and will continue to be a success, cities around the world will continue build astounding cityscape thanks to scrapers. It's a pity that not any city in Scandinavia has allowed high-rises for real. I mean, to build a bigger part of the city with them and enjoy the unique urban feeling they give. It's not so much about "showing the world", more about offering a citys own citizens a more interesting city. Living in a city means something.... It means that you have chosen to live close to others, services, companies etc... The high-rise is a symbol of that. The dense living. And let's face it, much of the cityscape of the late 20th century in Scandinavia isn't that much to applaude anyways.
