Wow, a lot of tall slender buildings in Dubai.

Damn this thing will be done in a year. Guess they weren't kidding about 2 floors/week.

cos there are no floor columns excpt the perimiter columns which can all be done with the same jumpform. Finally contractors in Duabi are starting to think with rose rotana going up in steel and this with perimiter jumpform and precast hollow core slabs, it easentially is a giant lego or mecano set, every thing identical for 70floors

I just can't understand how they can pump so much money into terrible looking projects like this one. Just imagine what a European or east Asian city would be able to do with those kind of money...

When was the last time you had to say something vguely positive about Dubai and it's projects? Oh wait, there wasn't even a first time.

I shouldn't state that I like a project I actually find terrible, should I?

Maybe I shouldn't write anything instead - but really; it's a problem that needs to be adressed. If this won't stop, Dubai will soon boast the biggest eye-sore known by man.

What I said was very clear and it needs no further clarifications!

I believe most Dubai towers with the traditional arabic design and architecture will turn out to be much better than what can be made out from the renders...

As for those who bash Dubai for such designs, it's only because there haven't been "arabic architecture supertalls" before and they are not used to appreciating these kinds of designs.

look at the renders, then you'll see it's only one tower.

It's the same tower shown twice.

Left the entire tower and right only the top half of it.

Agreed. The Tower on SZR is a great example of a skyscraper that successfully integrates traditional arabic design features within an overall modern theme. There are a few more in the Marina that do this successfully as well, though I'm personally not a fan of the sand-colored cladding in some of the Marina executions. But these more modern glass-clad towers usually tend to end up looking great. Time will tell if Ahmed Abdul Rahim Al Attar Tower is one of them.
