Mayors chamber at Jagathy

According to the The Hindu, a Mayors chamber is to come up at the vacant land near Jagathy Junction which will be jointly funded by all the municipal corporations in the state. That is really a piece of good news and an example of good co-operation among the civic bodies. A Prime piece of land currently lying unused in a space starved city , will after all be put to a good cause.

One more feather in the cap of our capital city

With all these visiting delegations coming in from round the world to see the great work being done here, it's a good idea.

Good grabs Santosh, really well marked. Lol, you stole the first round, but I will be back! The only pity is that Google still has to take up world famous spots like Technopark and Kovalam-Poovar in the high-res coverage. Let's see if we can prevail on them.....

Yup, Sathya, the Students' Centre - LMS stretch is one of the TRIP Corridors. Right now, demolition is progressing on the LMS-East Fort Corridor as the arterial M.G. Road gets ready to be widened.

One thing I like about TVM is that the commercial areas like Chalai and Kottakkam are not developed along the two sides of the main roads used for city commute. They have their own streets. I think this is a good design and this is reducing the congession in the main roads a lot.

Here are some pictures from the street inside fort. This street is parallell and near to the 6 line road infront of the east fort gate.

Kochuveli Second Terminus has started functioning sometime back. The "Kerala Sampark Kranthi Express" service is from Kochuveli. Also some special trains.

Presently two platforms, two station buildings & two pitlines are there in the station. The new station building is ready and see its u/c photo taken some 6-8 months back.

Trivandrum Division has submitted before SR, the proposal to add four more platforms immediately.Once fully completed the Station would be having 10 platforms in between the two station buildings.

The station yard is seen ahead, view from the road in front of Travancore Titanium products (The other side of the new terminal building).

View from the English Indian Clay Factory-NH Bypass road (NH Bypass is only 500m away).

In this you can almost see the whole of yard. Work is going on.

On the right end, is the old station building. You may see the yellow name board of the station. The station yard extends from this road to that end, where the coconut palms are bordering.

Kochuveli terminal will be having an EMU shed also..

Regarding Enchakkal Bus terminal as well as facility upgradation of Thampanoor station, it is learnt that the tender will be issued after the new govt is sworn in

hey thanks sudheesh...
As per my knowledge, the proposal for second phase of satellite terminus was submitted before the railway HQ so as to approved during this year's budget..but nothing regarding this project was spelt when Laloo presented the budget and i remember that southern railway divisional manager telling in a press conference that he will try to get this proposal included and approved before the final railway budget is discussed and passed in the parliament..i am not aware about what happened afterwards..
this is what i was looking forward to know...please do reply if you know what is happening now...
