Thats brilliant news, for me just the fact that its getting cleaned up and new windows is fantastic. Ive always despised how run down and grotty this building makes the area look. It will make a huge difference.

scaffolding is coming off what they are now calling forge house, not amazing but a significant improvement to the pile of shite it was before the refurb

The window centre showroom is staying put, but the upper floors of the building are being converted into 10 apartments for "couples or young professionals", and the exterior is having a revamp with new white rendering, balconies and weathered copper (or similar) cladding. Not a patch on the complete demolition and redevelopment that was orignally proposed, but as renovations go it looks to be of a good standard. A couple of the apartments are already listed on the Omnia site:
