Ask the people who are getting 40 - 100% rent increases for their apartments and offices.

The tower itself is not bad, but I just prefer to see more modern glass type buildings there.

however, its great to see another supertall being built in my lifetime.. ahhaha
They wouldn't be empty now but you can bet they'll have oversupply problems in the future.

yeah, its a beuaty. but its a serviced apartment block, so is basically a hotel.Difference is serviced apartments have a kitchen. Maybe good idea instead of pure resi due to future oversupply or aprtments.
In Sydney the biggest developer MERITON are building apartments but keeping them as serviced because of current downturn in property.later when market is up, the devloper sells them off as an apartment.
cheers

Skies the limit...

The enhancement of [urban] real estate values made the cost of an ordinary site mount to high figures. There was a commercial insistence for more revenue, which meant added stories, as lateral expansion was not possible and like a poker game 'the blue sky was the limit.' So capital said to art ... 'Go higher up.' And art ... said to science, 'Hear that? Hear what capital says?'

The crown was not "inspired" by Frost Bank Tower in Austin, TX. It was ripped off. I like this tower, but architects who blatantly rip off other towers should have to give credit, kind of like when a rapper samples another song to create a beat.

This along with all the others will definately make Dubai Marina the tallest block on the planet.
