This building has always, always, been at the top of my list and heart - even back when it was just a thought to be built. The site for this building has so much history (and, actually a lot of bloodshed that almost kept this architect from getting to build the tower on the small site...more to that whole storyline...)

Bank of China was designed by I. M. Pei, a Chinese American. He also designed the pyramid entrances to the Louvre. The site was previously occupied by Murray House. The building was moved brick by brick to Stanley :

Bad feng shui or not, I love the crisp clean design and it's probably the most distinctive tower in Asia. 10/10.

9/10 - Soaring height which is helped by the overall shape with the slanting setbacks, and boy, does that shining glass facade dance with the light! And the white bracings are a very nice contrast. There's a certain elegant simplicity here, I think.

The Bank of China is thrilling to see in person. I stare up at it
and feel the power of the angles, enjoy the tint of the glass, This tower is instantly recognizable by people who don't even pay attention to buildings. They see this skyscraper and they know it's Hong Kong. |

I agree about the look of it from certain angles which gives it a confusing appearance at times but the rest of the design & the height are impressive.....9/10
