wow great pictures, I somehow never saw this thread, its truly amazing. I love the old NYC architecture, and its so weird seeing trains driving on times square streets since now its all underground. It would be awesome if someone posted some NYC uptown pictures from like 100th st up to 207th..

Wow! I'm really impressed! I think it would be cool if the streetcars came back to the streets, but they're to crowded i suppose...
I hope to check out New York with my girlfriend next summer

Oh God, that is extraordinarily beautiful. I am speechless, heartbroken, and mystified. What a wonderful photographic capture of an amazing time in New York City.

Okay, you Penn Station experts-- is pic #11 backwards or not? (#10 is, and maybe the two pics come from the same place?)
#31-- is the bridge still under construction? |

Until 1969, the Myrtle Ave El used to run through Metropolitian Ave all the way to Adams St in both Brooklyn and Queens after the extension in 1915 from Wyckoff Ave. This was actually the last line to even use the old el trains, which were made of wood. Unfortunately, the upper level of the Broadway-Myrtle Ave Station along with everything south of it. Another reason for that demolition was that those stations were beyond repair and there was a line on Laffeyete St that was paralell to it by only a few blocks south.

This thread is great! Page number 26 of this thread is a real Guinness. There are 265 photographs on that page! I know it because I downloaded it all. Furthermore, I downloaded all photographs from this thread! There are hundreds of them
