Post # 1030. Pic with ESB in background and the Queen Mary in the Hudson River.....The water mark of Life Magazine reads ok...but isn't this pic mirror imaged ??????? Back to front ? I'd know New York anywhere !

Sotheby's is set to auction off one of the earliest known photographs of new york city. It is believed to have been taken in 1848 and is believed to be a photo of an estate somewhere in Manhattan's upper west side

 Sweet. In about 50 years + or - the Robber Barons would have led the growing, ever migrating wealth of New York City up that would be intergrated into the grid and look somewhat like it does today.
