This is an awesome render. These heights are much better than the previous mentioned.
I see that the design and the top of the new buildings look like the just finished WTC 7.

These aren't actual renders. We don't yet know the design of the other towers. This is to give people an idea of the height we'll be seeing for the towers.

these new heights are awesome, I wish they could add a 2nd tower thats FT's height so it could look like before, I would then support this project 110%. But anyhow...its looks amazing. GO NYC!

Wow, is Silverstein smoking something? How can he STILL be saying that? How can this be? I don't understand.

I'm still wondering about this. Does this mean NYC will once again have the WTB for a few days until the BD is completed?

no. not a chance. There is no way possible that freedom tower which is still in foundation and excavation work will catch up to Burj Dubai whose core is well over 500ft high already

There is a change. Burj Dubai will be build with 15.000 workers, Freedom Tower with 20.000 workers. The Freedom Tower is less tall, But has a spire on top of it which can be "build i a week". The foundation work is pretty easy on Ground Zero because they didn't have to excavate so much because the hole allready excist. The only thing is groundbreaking and make a new foundation. The bathtube allready excist. The tower will rise pretty fast, because it will also be a steel building with concrete core like "World Finance Center" in Shanghai. Just see how fast 7WT has rised. But imagine, only more workers, and faster transport on site.

The Freedom Tower can be ready at december 2008.

Either that, or it's 4,000 feet tall, give or take 500 feet. I choose take.

No sorry man, I wish it were so. First off the tower moved from where it was so they are now excavating a new spot, setting their foundations while gingerly avoiding the already there path train tracks and supporting structure and equipment. Actual steel isn't supposed to start rising until summer to fall 2007 if i remember the last timeline. by that time Burj Dubai will be way over 1000 feet and we wont have a chance in hell of catching up. And thats giving everything goes well. NYC construction has taught me that there will always be delays. never seen a building finish on time, even is by a couple months.

Ebola: Then why would he say that if he knew about Dubai?

Pure developer bullshit. they spout half truths out of their mouths all the time and not know the difference. I haven't listened to hard to anything Silverstein had to say but i'm sure he is the same. For onething he recently got the heights wrong in his own buildings in a wall street journal article. Just listen to Trump. everything of his is the best most luxurious biggest, blah blah blah. nothing but self promotion. dont take what silverstein says that literally Eb.

I think the tower can be the tallest in the world for a very short time.

I add something to what New York Yankee said.
Burj Dubai will be 200m taller. It takes some time to build 200m.
The entire ESB was build within 1.5 years.

I can imagin something like this.
Freedom Tower completed 30 December 08
Burj Dubai completed 31 December 08

may not be in the world, but who cares. more and more cities are getting their new tallest, i think thats more realistic, and all they could care about. it WILL be the tallest in the U.S. for whatever amount of time.

That render is nice. But there is something lacking with this whole Freedom tower project. Something.
