I see you've updated the front page but where's the 1027 Wilshire Blvd. project?

Photo Update - July 29, 2006

The weather finally let up a bit today, so I grabbed my camera, dusted off the cobwebs, and hit the pavement. The weather changed quite a bit during my hike, so you'll see pretty different skies throughout. Enjoy!

Colburn School

This one's topped out.

Market Lofts (Ralph's)

Almost topped out. They just need to frame and pour the ceiling on the east side. From Grand Hope Park.

Interior works are well underway on the first two condo levels.

Concerto

Moving right along. It's hard to tell from the picture, but they've excavated about 10 feet down through the entire site. This one will be a little boring for a while, until they start foundation work.

Luma

They're working on the 10th floor already, so just over halfway up. There's more facade pieces, too. They're a nice shade of charcoal gray.

Close-up on the facade. It'll be all glass between these panels.

This second crane is for Luma, not Evo.

Evo

Speaking of Evo, they've poured the foundation, and the core is starting to rise above ground level. This one should start to get interesting in a few months. From 12th and Grand.

Looking north from 12th street.

For the first time you can see all three South Group buildings above ground in the same shot.

SBC Center

Recladding continues. You can see the lighter colored mullions on the left side.

Hanover Tower

Already working on the sixth floor. I wish all projects moved this fast.

LA Live

Here's a pano. I made it extra shloppy!! Cause I know how's you's likes 'em shloppy!! The parking levels in front of the Nokia Theater (at right) have reached ground level already.

The future hotel site, looking southeast from the corner of Georgia and Olympic.

A few shots of the above ground work on the Nokia Theater. Looking east across the site from Olympic.

Some tipsy rebar columns, as viewed from the corner or Chick Hearn Ct. and Georgia.

They could have used a few more of these at Giant Village...

The single most important piece of steel in the entire project.

Roosevelt Lofts

You too can "have it all" at the Roosevelt Lofts. Just not 'til sometime next year.

And finally, what would a walk around downtown be without some random pictures? Remember that game "Sorry"? Someone left some game pieces out.

And who said the retail market on 7th street was struggling? CVS just opened a store in the middle of the street. Actually, this was for a commercial shoot.

That's it for now.

Thanks for the update colemonkee. It's nice to see everything coming along. For the SBC Center, is the left side fully completed because it still looks a little 'black' as opposed to the new gray color.

Great update, nice to see all those projects rising.

When I first saw that picture for the CVS commercial, I was like what the hell, but I guess it would help to read.

I didn't get close enough to see if the panels had been replaced, but from the pictures and from what I remember, it seems like they've only replaced or painted the mullions. The panels still look like the same black granite or stone ones.

It was scheduled for July/August 2007, but in a recent downtown news article, they said it had been pushed to early 2008.

So if the second South Group project crane is for Luma, we will see another crane rising for Evo?

Plinko from SSP made a rendering of 1027 Wilshire as seen from the 110.

It'll probably be overlooked but here is what 1110 Ingraham will look like. And you can also see the site for 1027 Wilshire (parking lot on the upper left hand side of 1100 Wilshire.

Infill is a good thing.
