I think the new Ritz will stand out a lot more.

The Ritz-Carlton is in the wrong place there (it should be moved more to the left, in the other corner of the LA Live site, and the Hanover Tower is a bit out of scale (it will be shorter than that). Also, this doesn't show the two towers at Concerto, which will pop up in between Hanover and the shorter red-colored high rise just to the left of it in that pic. But, this does give a pretty good idea of what we're guaranteed to get. Now, if they can just get a few of those proposed projects off the ground...

Also, they were putting up the tower crane for Evo yesterday (or Saturday). The cabin and the arm weren't up when I drove by last night, but the tower part was. Looks like that one's getting ready to go vertical.

So South Park gets another one! That's 8 cranes just for South Park! For how much longer will the crane for the Ralph's be there?

You obviously missed the point of the rendering. The whole reason why I even did that rendering was to give an idea of how all of the projects will impact the skyline. Don't take everything so seriously. As for Concerto, it's hard to put Concerto into that pic.

I know exactly how you feel WestsideLIfe... when a rendering isn't perfect it's often criticized here in the L.A. forums...that's kinda' the reason I don't really like making any more renderings - those take time - even if they aren't perfect, colemonkee

I know it takes a LOT of time doing those renderings... which I appreciate A LOT!!! That is why when anyone makes any comments with regard to flaws... it doesn't feel good. I know colemonkee wasn't trying to be mean... in fact he did say that the picture "does give a pretty good idea of what we're guaranteed to get". I just think he was making comments to suggest more accuracy however I am certain he appreciates all the hard work in those renderings. I like them and have showed non-skyscraper people your renderings of what is coming down the pipeline... they all loved it and for that thank you. Keep them coming! That goes for anyone who has the talent to make those renderings. I have photoshop cs2 and have no idea how to use it... ha!

Here's a better rendering with the City House, Olympic, Hanover, and Ritz Carlton/Marriott Marquis.

westsidelife, I wasn't trying to criticize the rendering, which is great, by the way. Just trying to clarify what will actually end up there in words (my Photoshop skills aren't good enough to do what you did). I appreciate the renderings and hope you guys keep making them.

That sucks some individuals just don't appreciate the effort others do to showcast their own creative renderings. Although there not 100 percent accurate it surely gives a good visual of Downtown's future........ Excellent work you and Westside Life have done!!!!

Calm down, he just said he didn't mean to criticize his rendering, just adding his 2 cents on the rendering.

But I agree, nice renders Westside Life.

There is an awkward gap between city house and the rest of the skyline, but hopefully that will get filled in. there are so many large parking lots in that part of Downtown that needed to be built up.

But there's also Park Fifth, Zen, Fig South, Fig Central, etc. that would fill in the gap from this angle.

So, to avoid gaps we shouldn't build more high-rises... clever! NOT..... what about the CURRENT gap between the former Transamerica Tower and the Financial District skyline... I would say that ANYTHING being built inbetween them is going to fill in that gap, duh! And like Westsidelife said... there are lots of other porjects that would fill this area... but it is still a gap NOW (without those towers)... not just becuse they are building Olympic and City House.

The projects that will help fill in that "gap" will be (in addition to the ones menitoned by Westsidelife):
  • Herald Examiner Tower
  • Evo
  • Luma
  • 12th & Grand Towers
  • Glass Tower
  • Olive Tower

I like them all, except the Aon building, it just looks old and very basic.

^ Lol..Aon has been there since the 70's. Boxes were big then.

Westside: Park 5th is going to be next to Gas Company.
