It looks like a needle dressed as if it were the bride at a wedding.

I've got a nickname for it: The Big Screw!

Ugly. I hope nothing like it ever gets build.

I love it. Build it like that, then fill the space around it with more 700m+ towers =>Greatest skyline in the world! (why aim lower?)

Interesting, if this is built, what is the second tallest BA tower?

I just don't get what the point behind such a tower would be- especially if it would cost investors $3.3 Billion to build..What company or large group of investors would possibly want to invest in such a project, when like some have suggested, they could invest in a multitude of smaller projects and actually turn a real profit.

The Burj in Dubai i can understand- when you have a couple billion just in your penny jar, then what does it matter, but when your countries economic situation isn't exactly..umm..well good, then why build it...okay prestige, but you could get this from 400 metres.

I agree totally, that $3.3 billion could potentially be used to lift thousands of people out of poverty if invested in smaller projects that can actually turn a profit and help grow the economy. Something like this tower will never pay for itself and the investors will be left with $3.3 billion of debt that they are unlikely to ever be able to pay off.

Also, from what I've seen, BA appears to be a beautiful city with some amazing old architecture, sticking this thing in the city is going to completely ruin the feel of the place.

very good point there..i never knew BA had poverty but if it does, then the governmant should us that money to hel those poor people instead of tryna build the worlds tallest tower which i dont think is going to happen!

1000meter towerplans are popping up everywhere lately, when i discovered this forum, 200meters was considered very nice and 300 meters was

Nowadays, when a 500meter tower is proposed somewhere where all like; mwoah, quite allright..

This money doesn´t come from the goverment neither the project to build it. This is a private investors project and money.

1000m would not fit in BA:s skyline at all. The city already have many skyscrapers u/c and it could have even more but a stucture that would dwarf the rest of the nice skyline wouldn't be good.

I dont know much about BA but it would be a very unusual city if it didnt have poverty. There are only a handful of cities in the world that can boast that they are poverty free. Even if BA was amongst those lucky few cities, it is part of a larger country. Every country of any size has poverty to some extent and dispite Argentina's economy doing quite well at the moment, it's still not considered developed by most. Look at developed nations like the US and you'll see that they have poverty to deal with. If the US has poverty then Argentina must also have.

And who will be bailing out the private investors when they end up bankrupt? This project cannot be commercially viable, this is either just a publicity stunt to get the developers or the architect noticed and the real tower you'll end up with will be more like 300-400m, or they are expecting the project to be subsidsed by the government in order to make it commercially viable.
I very much hope it's the first of the two because for one a 1000m tower would look stupid, but more importantly, if the government has to subsidise the project then it will be at huge detriment to the people... and even then you may end up with a half built skyscraper that's considered a national embarrasment and a financial black hole.

If this tower gets cut down to 400m then it will still be a huge building, it would look awesome on the skyline and you could still boast having the tallest tower in the southern hemisphere, that's impressive... and it's actually achievable.

It will be an eye-opener. I guarantee you, this scraper will be world famous quite instantly. I't massive, and twisters are still quite original in the eyes of the ordinary people.

I do agree this sounds unrealistic, though...

Hi

Just took the job of drawing the BAF2010 tower with SketchtUpPro based on the photos I saw.

What I really done was the island and a simple representation of the building.

It includes the connection bridge for railroad and highways, along with the other highways planned to link Au. Illia.

Hope you like it.

I wish to be able to add more details but have no dimensions of this project, so guessing is not nice and may lead to horrible draws.

The pics:

FROM THE OBELISK

HIGHWAY HUB

ISLANDS 1 (GOOGLE EARTH FAILS TO DRAW IT FINE

ISLANDS 2 (GOOGLE EARTH FAILS TO DRAW IT FINE

CITY OVERVIEW

CITY DETAILED VIEW

VIEW FROM THE TOP

COLOURED ISLANDS, BASED ON THE PROJECT COLOURS.

Hope you really enjoyed.

I'm working in draw every single building with more than 15-floor in Buenos Aires with SketchupPro and add them to Google Earth, incluiding towers, antennas, highways, etc.
Again, have no dimensions and that is not allowing me to draw them.

Sorry for image sizes, and remember that this draws is my BETA 0.2 version. Still a lot of work to do.

Thanks!
