Nasser says this to the media and let the fans happy.

But the truth is more complex.
Sebastien bazin the ancien president of PSG last year and president of Colony capital Europe said this week end than the stadium could be destroyed entirely to rebuild a new one.

Qatar want a 60-65 k stadium. They seem don't want the renovation of 48-50k. They want bigger.

The problem is the neighbour. To have a 65k stadium at the same place (alongside a 20k rugby just the street next) isn't sustainable.
Quote:

But the main aspect is qatar doesn't want a 50k seater. A bigger .

So is there any plan for PSG to play the group matches of the Ch.League at Stade de France, or will they still play them at PDP. Now that they are almost guaranteed to be in the group phase, they might think about that.

It would be a massive increase of revenue for a club returning to Europe's biggest stage and representing it's second most important city.

An article stated that it would be the case next season.

I'm still pissed at those idiots approving Jean Bouin's expansion.

Me too to a certain extent. I understand fans always love the old grounds. But you've gotta keep up with the times or risk being left behind. It's almost a disgrace that Europe's second biggest city has no football team of relevance, whereas London has 2-3. Even if you make up for the fact that it's playing in the French League, still Paris should have one strong European team. If Lyon can make it to the semis of the Champions League so can PSG.

Using a bigger, better stadium to boost revenues is the first step to do that.

He's referring to the reconstruction of the rugby stadium across the street from Parc des Princes (the new Stade Jean Bouin) .

psg is the club of a city ruled like a province town...
Don't be surprised if the debate of expanding or not the actual stadium is the discussion with all the characteristic of a 'village'
(the mayor, the opponents and anyone who want its 15 min of glory)

Honestly we don't count on PSG in france to raise the level of debate. Lyon or marseille are more relevant to represent france in big structures and efficiency in results.

PSG qatari era is turning into a joke each week end now
They lost tonight against nancy.

this club still the same than previously but with more money.

OK, apparently it's official: The PSG owners have decided to stay at the Parc des Princes ! The new stadium option as well as the Stade de France option would have been dropped.

PSG plays the Parc card
18.05.2012

No more doubt possible: the Paris SG owners decided to link their future to the Parc de Princes. But there are still negotiations to be conducted with partners (Colony Capital & Vinci Construction) and the City of Paris.

It is a choice dictated by history as much as by reason. Reportedly, The leadership of Paris Saint-Germain has decided to settle permanently at the Parc des Princes. The other possible leads, including a definitive move to the Stade de France, have been mothballed. The owners of the capital city club now consider that a renovated Parc des Princes as part of Euro 2016, with 50,000 seats and about sixty suites, is a viable economic model.
The decision to stay at the Parc des Princes where PSG evolving since 1974, is provided conditional upon the outcome of negotiations taking place in secret between the different actors of the file.

I am slightly disappointed. PSG at the PDP would have made a lot of sense for everyone next year.

With regular CL presence they will be able to attract the stars that they couldn't last summer (just like City had to overpay for year or two). But PSG being the sole representative of Europe's second major city can really be built into a major economic powerhouse. Unlike City, who I think will always be dependant on the Sheik's money, PSG can really start to generate a lot of money and success itself after some injection. It would be nice to see them break the European hegemony of Real-Barca-United-Bayern-Milan.

Europe needs more competition and PSG can do it. But staying at the PDP sounds like lowering the ambitions.

100% true

But don't panic, nothing is done for the moment.

What exasperates me it's the total lack of new possibilities with this stadium

I mean we are in paris and Parc des princes is a good point of view on eiffel tower but is is unexploited

Whereas qatar wants to associate paris prestigious image to this club

London know how to give a second nature to its iconic places.

You'll never see this in paris:

No innovation for this stadium! It was at the leading edge when it was build but please this stadium is clearly overtaken by emirates,Allianz, wembley or the ones for euro 2012!

France is lot people who have fear about progress
I remember SDF story and how people started to say rubbish on it...until a certain of july 1998

French never changed

Envious?

As a potential tourist i can visit a stadium, an activity which gives money to the club i remind you.

Your attitude reflects the ignorance(and arrogance) of parisians compared to londoners ,people i find much more polites and convenient witgh better structures than the archetype you produce dear.

The best paid player in france plays here in lille. our beloved Eden Hazard goes to England and not at PSG next season.
guess why...

PS: New lille stadium calm down your parc des princes in every aspect then shut up

Don't really care

London is not like paris with all this elitism which fails to 'break the glass ceiling'

London is better for everybody that's why they got the olympics by celebrating the universality of their town whereas paris was showing catherine deneuve on empty champs elysées

This elitism spirit leads us to this failure and you continue to incarnate it.

Please notice that Chelski which has a historic place , stamford bridge wants to move to a new site.

they are efficient in results and have a vision of the future. Not like in paris where the club don't win and people continue to be ridiculous by claiming "l'âme du psg c'est le parc"

Gagnez d'abord des titres plutôt que vous attachez à ce p***** de cercueil de beton !

Apparently you really don't know the British society and its social class structure/system, etc... Because, as a matter of fact, it is much, much more elitist than the French one, my dear .
