^You are absolutely right STR. I wonder, if we start giving illegals that enter this country over the mexican border the right to amnesty, maybe that will encourage people from other countries to immigrate to mexico and then go across the border to the USA. This could start a tidal wave of illegal non-mexican immigration across our souther border. It has already been shown that such immigration is almost impossible to stop, so it isn't that far fetched. Illegal immigration across the southern border may never be stopped because of the broad, unguarded stretches of desert that it goes across.

^You're taking my premise at bit far there. I was strictly speaking about Mexicans and the people who regularly cross the US-Mexican border illegally and how it would be likely there'd be a last minute rust to get into the country.

i'm sure if an amnesty is proposed it wont be beneficial for people who just showed up the day before... there will be specific qualifications.

i've also spoken to many people who have migrated to this country legally and have more of nonchalant attitude toward the issue. As a person whose parents came here legally, I have no right to treat another human like shit, or propose to "send them back," just because he/she didn't go through the proper channels. What ever happened to human benevolence?
