yeah take a look at this to

Doha, April. 23, (BNA) Qatar signed today with Lebanon a Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) on the possibility of constructing a refinery for Qatari oil Lebanese soil.
The MoU was signed by Qatar's Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Power and Industry, Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiya and Lebanese Minister of Power, Mohammed Fneish, who is taking part in the international power forum being held in Doha. Al Attiya said that the signing of the MoU comes within an economic feasibility study of the refinery by an expert company during the 10 coming weeks.

Put in your signatures a petition for the Lebanese forum.
This way, the admins will be more aware of the desire to have one.

Like I said, the Greek forum has OVER 60 MEMBERS and it isnt very active at all, so members dosnt really matter.

Lebanon Forum?

There has been much discussion about the possibility of having a Lebanon sub-forum created in the Middle East section. Although it seems the majority agree that one should be created, I was just curious to see how many forumers are supportive of the idea?

I think it will help our case if we have a poll to show interest in the idea.

Thanks for voting

Not enough construction? Hows this for not enough construction.

SOLIDERE's website:
http://www.solidere.com
The entire Solidere project is divided into two phases:
Phase I: 1994-2004
Phase II: 2005-2020
The darkest areas are areas that will involve high-rise development.

Beirut Tower

Platinum Tower, Beirut

Jean Nouvel's Tower, Achrafiyeh

Achrafiyeh building

Four Seasons Hotel

Metropolitan Palace hotel and Grand Habtoor (completed not to long ago)

Astoria Tower

Beirut Parks

Marina Towers + the start of new Beirut Gates or Beirut Souks

Verdun 5, in Verdun

Kempinski Hotel

New building being constructed next to Virgin Megastore and UFA building

Hilton Hotel

Souks of Beirut

Another major project is the $600m Beirut Gate project, the downtown's largest development project. Beirut Gate comprises seven plots on 229,871 square feet and a built-up area of almost 1.9m square feet overlooking the landmark Martyrs Square at the heart of downtown Beirut.
plus there will be more "We are talking about investments of $1.5bn. They will be two projects, one of them of the size of this project and the other one bigger,"

Also, a new hotel is under construction on a floating island in Jounieh Bay, which is set to be completed in 2007. In addition, some family hotels are being renovated and other old patrimonial houses transformed into private and small hotels in Saïda, while more boutique hotels are planned for Achrafieh.
A multi-billion dollar ski resort in Mount Sannine, northeast of Beirut, is under development. The 75km² resort will be the largest natural ski resort in the Middle East and will include three villages (an international sports village, an eco-farm village and a lack view village), a ski resort, various hotels, two 18-hole golf courses and other entertainment facilities.

There is also the Garden of Forgiveness

Beirut souks website

And also check the heritage trail

All I have to say is if you are going to vote NO, at least have the courage to post here to explain your vote.

There are currently over 10 active Lebanese forumers plus MANY more that have stated they would post with us. I think that is enough. If not, I dont mind continuing to post in the main forum for all to see - the main MidEast forum has basically turned into a Lebanon forum anyway!
