Chrysler knockoffs? Lol - whatever you say. This is hardly a Chrysler knockoff. The crown isn't even close.

lol, although they share similarities, there not that close. i would say the most significant similarity is they both have a crown, but hundreds of buildings have crowns.

Is it true that they lowered the height for this building?

according to ssp (skyscraperpage.com) which seems predominantly focused on American highrise construction, the height and floors haven't changed, the building remains 1,057 ft with 70 floors coming from an inside source.

I guess the july 4th groundbreaking date was a little optimistic...
from readin the thread and articles, it sounds like this tower is 100% secure.
true? or false?

This is a beautiful structure that would add a tremendous amount of limelight to a wonderful city. But, it's starting to look a little grim for this project.

Whatever good news there is on this tower, people (including me) seem to think it will fail. I suppose this is the acid test for very tall buildings in cities not previously known for them.

I think it's fair to say that there are folks who are willing this to fail. I don't think I can remember a project of this size that has brought out so much contempt.

You want contempt? Try Museum Plaza up the road in Louisville..lol!

I don't want this to fail but I do know that if I had reserved a unit in this building, I would be a little concerned at this point. And this news can't be good for those still on the fence as to whether they want to take the plunge themselves.

This is not the marketing news you want at this point in a project of this stature. These recent events certainly can't help the situation.

There was a cryptic announcement a couple of days ago in the Nashville Biz Journal that it had been delayed and that it would start 'as soon as is practicable'. Other than that, we know nothing, as Nasvillians who frequent SSC and SSP have seemingly gone into hiding since the delay.

Boy that sounds like death. But I've got my fingers crossed.

We haven't gone into hiding. There is just nothing to talk about right now until something else happens. The story was cryptic, and until there is another story that gives more info, there is simply nothing really to talk about right now.

Yeah, but the strange thing is that uncertainity prior to the announcement of the delay did nothing to still the usual chatter. It just seems odd that the folks who seem to have some sense for what's going on with the project haven't weighed in on the matter.

hey guys- new to the forum. I live in Nashville have been keeping up with this tower for a very long time. From what Ive heard/read, Tony needs more reservations/sold whatever to begin excavation. I believe he has about 140 right now, but needs about 30-35 more. I believe this tower will get 60% reserved, but i believe a lot of people are waiting for the groundbreaking until they spend their cash.

I agree that once the earth moves and concrete begins pumping the sales will increase dramatically. The trick is to convince the lenders to believe in that likely scenario. It just stands to reason they are knowledgable enough to have examined that probability.
