Everyone should realize that the construction of Signature as planned would set a major precedent over the actual and perceived power of the FAA. The FAA has shot down a litany of tall towers in say, Miami for example, but if even one 1000 footer was approved (and one has) the floodgates would be open. Generally, the FAA has a hissy fit whenever over any 1000 foot tower proposed in a city other than NY or Chicago. If Giatarra gets away with building one 4 miles from an airport, then it will prove once and for all that the FAA truly is a toothless tiger when confronted with a determined developer. Did he really just apply for a building permit? About time.

4) as for my statement, it is not stupid, but it is only the simple manifestation of my feelings towards an agency that needs to modernize its system (and this has been said by many people also on the news) because it is not able to organize efficently the growing air traffic; because it is part of the apparatus that failed to react effectively in times of need and emergency (don't think I need to mention any dates), and principally because it is, in some cases, the obstacle to one of the things I love the most, skyscrapers.

So please don't talk about things you have no idea why they were said in the first place.
Settle down....I fly all over the world on business and every time I board a US carrier I thank god for the FAA. It may not be perfect but it's the best air traffic regulator in the entire world. Remember that next time you board a flight.

this is a beautiful tower; it's gonna' take nashville to a WHOLE new level. the prices they're asking for is pretty reasonable, too.

If it get's built. There just seems to be a lot of smoke and mirrors surrounding this project.

There is no purpose on building such a tall building in such a small city.

I couldn't agree more. Just don't see this project happening.

The route was called into question after the FAA ruled that Signature Tower, a 1,057-foot skyscraper in the works downtown, was a "presumed hazard" to passing planes and must be reduced in height.

FAA spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said the developer, Tony Giarratana, is still within the time frame to respond to their assessment.

No, wont be any movement at the site this year.

The project is not dead yet, but options are running out.

Charlotte had an 877 footer go up when they had nothing even close at the time and even fewer 400+ footers than Nashville.

And I didn't hear any negatives on here about a 700+ footer in Mobile when they basically have no skyline at all other than maybe one building or two.
