Signature gets five feet taller (1,052) and is a go for sure. I found this link to be interesting on another forum. Great design.

What hurts though,

Is that Atlanta has the tallest building in the country outside of New York City and Chicago, the Bank of America Plaza, 312m and 55 floors finished in 1992. Now Miami will maybe have 2 of 366m and Nashville with the 319m building! We're staying behind!

This is my favourite skyscraper project in America right now, and in my opinion one of the most underrated proposals in the world.

I think the design is fantastic, especially the crown and pinnacle.

The height is incredible, and along with the central location it will give a massive boost to Nashville's skyline.

You'll have to see some more skyscrapers from the US and I'll bet you you'll like another one more.

I've seen all the tallest proposals - Freedom Tower, Fordham Spire, Trump Chicago, Waterview Tower, etc. etc...

In terms of design, this is better and more elegant than all those in my opinion.

I thought you meant like your favorite skyscraper overall in the US. Sorry if I misunderstood you.

The hotel announcement should come on Monday. In the meanwhile, here's a nice article on the tower's construction. It states that the height will be 1,057'.

Man! This tower keeps getting taller every time you turn around! What's the secret? I need to use it on Baltimore and Columbia, SC.

It will fit in perfectly with the skyline of today, and probably this will bring more projects into Nashville.

This is my favorite US proposal at the moment, except FS bc it's taller. Nervous about its viability though. Whenever extended talks about financing come up, it seems the project becomes DOA. Anyone from the developer on this forum?

UP has a fellow named Gaushell who works for the Production Company in charge of publicity and the video. He laughs at all the naysayers because he has the real inside info.

The hotel to take up the bottom floors was just named this morning so this thing is a go.

This project is expected to cost $275 Million.

The Hotel Operator was announced today. It will be Kimpton Hotels. They plan to open a 200 Room Hotel Palomar in the bottom 10 floors of the Tower. With this announcement along with nearly 40% of the units already reserved, this project is practically a cinch to get built. Here's a link to the announcement:

http://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060731/BUSINESS01/60731008

Here's the article:

Kimpton Hotel and Restaurant Group to have boutique hotel in Signature Tower
10-story hotel is key part of the $275 million skyscraper

By CHAS SISK
Staff Writer

Developer Tony Giarratana has picked a West Coast firm to run a 10-story boutique hotel at the base of his Signature Tower.

Giarratana said this morning that San Francisco-based Kimpton Hotel and Restaurant Group has been given a 15-year contract to operate a 200-room boutique hotel and restaurant on the building’s bottom floors. The hotel is a key part of the $275 million project.

Kimpton will put a Hotel Palomar in the building, the company’s sixth with that name. The hotel will feature a four-star caliber restaurant, room service, a concierge and a spa.

Giarratana has proposed a 65-story tower that would rise on the corner of 5th Avenue North and Church Street downtown. The building would be the tallest in the Southeast and would have 400 condominiums that share amenities with the hotel below.

Giarratana expects to start construction on the building in early 2007.
