Just spoke to Aamir Khan at the dubai sports city. He says the ground work has started on the site. And this fact will be mentioned in the next newsletter.

Can someone please check this at the site? so we know this is the reality!

Thanks.

I am not sure about that. However I wouldn't go to DSC staff with these pictures or Emre will be banned from taking further photos in the future & we will all be in the dark.

Called sports city they said piling is being done for the 3 buildings and the new completion date is first quarter 2010.

cross checked with UNEC they said they have just started with the 3 buildings of canal residence and approx completion time is 2yrs.

Realistic completion will be at the end of 2010

But i am still trying to understand why only 3 buildings contract to UNEC why not 5 ?

Is it bcoz of the price difference i mean the first 3 buildings were sold at approx 700 per sqft and the new ones are being sold for more than 1500 aed.

something fishy

my guess the new buildings contract will be given to better contractors.

canal residences

Yes i think the remaining 2 buildings have now been launched so construction has to start within 6 months of going on sale, that is now the law in dubai so i would expect unec to construct these as well !
And to the same excellent standard as some of the unec construction in dubai marina!
Mavekris why don,t you go and wind up satan about his hole in the ground ( the cube) rather than this ! i did he went crazy !
Although i do think you are ?

We have purchased a 1 bed apt in the Med Tower in 2006. We have made 15% payment so far.

About a week ago we received a 'final notice' letter (after hearing nothing for 2 years), demanding 211,000 UAE D. If we do not pay this immediately we will lose the apt.

Has anybody else received a similar letter? Is anybody up to date with payments.

We requested development details before we make the payment but all we have received are very brief details about the progress of the sports facilities - nothing about CRW.

It's a bit worrying really. So we're looking for other people who have purchased in CRW who might be able to give us their experiences.

Thank-you!

i am up to date with the payments. of course the construction was delayed. but now things are on track.

i think legally they can take away your apartment and you lose the payments if you dont pay on time. i suggest you pay now and keep the apartment till completion. as you have made alot of equitty since purchasing it.

I have to agree with Ali. They will take the apartment back if they can and sell it for a much higher price.
Think is best you pay the installments. If you bought 2 years ago the appriciation will be hugh. The buildings will be build... once.

Dubai Sport City has way too long dragged their feet on this project. I forgot when was this originally intended to be completed?
