it will be ok if we can get the results from this project, it would be terrible if the project turns out to be a flop. that would also effect the dubai economy

i like the project - but i would prefer if it wasnt built
would also prefer if it wasnt family oriented fun. it would be a cool street with restaurants, cafes, clubs, bars, shops, arcades.

i would have rather enhance a place like rigga street or extend diyafah street down all the way to the trade centre and make it a non-theme park strip/ hangout joint (no clubs or bars).

anyway i think its too big. $27 billion is a lot of money for a single project.
sure dubai needs the hotels, but would create more variety to space the hotels out.

Well, the good thing is that it's a proper entertainment project that could very well become successful. If they just got rid of the landmarks then I'd love it. They don't look as tall as the real ones but they're certainly not small either. Burj Dubai still looks like it's about 500m so I have to say no.

My only question still stays IS THIS LEGAL. If its legal i think its cool (only because its in Dubailand and doest fuck up the rest of the Dubai skyline that much)

Yes I love this project. It is great beacuase it is part of DubaiLand. Yes it is legal - they are not exact copies and only a few of the buildings are based on others, most are originals.

and 1,500 restaurants

Loads of times in Dubai when a new project is launched they seem to forget about all the others around them. 1500 restaurants? What about city of arabia then? When you combine everything together you can then see it really is overkill.

It is not overkill just ambition. Remember completion is 2014 ! phased projects to get tourism to where it needs to be in order to survive without oil.

no i dont like it, as i said before its getting too much.

projects like this should be done AFTER the major ones such as downtown burj dubai and business by and the palms and the marina are completed.

too many major project and none is fully complete yet.

they should wait till at least one finishes then start a new major one. this one is 100 billion dirahams its crazy.

anyway wish them the best.
