165 John Street - Young Thailand Building
I saw some construction activity there. Anyone knows what's going on? It's a very handsome building (a bit Bauhaus?) and I hate to see it goes.

Core Architects have designed/built a new condo- not sure of the name, but it should be done soon. its kind of nice- it has a slight curve to it and it makes the intersection of john and queen a bit more downtownlike- i guess...

The Core Architects site is 169. 165 John is still a standing building but it looks like there are some activities.

While I like the building itself, I find it sticks out like a sore thumb. All the buildings on John (north of Queen) are brick based buildings & have an industrial look to them. This is much taller than the other buildings & made of glass/cladding.
Still, a good infill project |
