After a day of shooting update pictures for myself, sadly not from the Skytree since I didn't have time to fly 22 hours to Tokyo and back (not including the time to and from the airports) but in Rotterdam and The Hague here's the usual Sunday blog update from 512colors.blog120.fc2.com/

Thanks R360 for all the pictures!

Although a few days ago when I just came home from work I saw the JAL Boeing 777 from Tokyo making it's approach to Schiphol Airport, at moments like that I really really really want to go back to Japan again.

Can you produce a new diagram? What part of the tower will be extended? Most likely the spire....

It'd had been much better if they increased the Roof instead, but it would had been more challenging and expensive to perform.

This tower should stand up to the test of earthquake better than many structures in the country, even a volcanic eruption LOL

How about an update from the Shimizu-ku ward in Shizuoka with Mount Fuji in the back ground.

It happens to be from the steel works that produces the steel tubes for the Sky Tree.

The BING Maps zoom is even better
http://www.bing.com/maps/default.asp...cl=1&encType=1

The tubes are produced by JFE Steel with steel developed by the Nippon Steel Corporation

Supernice update to Tokyo Sky Tree construction photos!!!
If You know, please, let me know the weight of these steel tubes.
It is amazing to see how these massive steel elements are lifting by cranes on the top of tower How I understood, the mass of steel elements must be less than 32 tonnes, because of tower cranes capacity...
