I understand your point, but at least that tower isn't covered in black and yellow like the one in Lower Manhattan.

The media was invited onto the building site, the result is some pretty cool video's also from inside the core on the National news and now on Youtube.

That won't be possible in such a short time, but the planning is that they will reach 300m in January.

11/22 Blog Round Up #2

One tower is going up, another one is going down. The small steel tower on the roof of the Tobu Railways headquarters will be dismantled soon and the building will follow.

Since I started again my paper model project of this tower, I don't know if it possible to post a nice vertical design profile (Culwula?)and some recent models, if it's possible, of the whole complex and the office tower next to it, thanks!!

EDIT: Also, do you know if the spire is going to be red and white, like all the rest in Tokyo? I haven't seen this in any rendering

Also the core doesn't seem to be very transparent, or covered with glass, seems there are gray panels instead, difficult to see....

Oh man, I hope they don't do that; it'd go from being an elegant tower to yet another broadcast antenna (and yeah I know that's what it actually is, but it's supposed to be a landmark). I always thought the original Tokyo Tower looked much better without the red/white bands too.

I could only see a little of the core base from across the river, and it did look like transparent glass. I could be wrong, but hopefully I'm not.

And what's its color? Green/blue?

I suppose then this is a temporary coating?

Take a look at this photo that was posted earlier:

One side is clear, the other side is clad. Not sure why they've done this, but it'll be interesting to watch.

I guess the core is only covered with glass on the side where the elevators/lifts are located.

Inside view of the core.

The inside core area would make the worlds best indoor skydiving! You could jump from the top, then they could turn on a fan at the bottom...

CULWULLA/MOMO, do you have any details or diagrams about the entire complex? The structures around the base and details about the office tower next to it? Google earth shows the plot as it was before any construction had commerce...
