The tallest skyscraper in Japan would be the Yokohama Landmark Tower with 296m.

Another great update, can't wait until they finish the bottom half of the tower and start the construction of the first observation section...

Imperfect Ending said "there" so I interpreted it as "near" and taken into account only the center of Tokyo. But you're right Yokohama is part of the metropolis, and Landmark Tower the highest!

The tower will cost 40 Billion Yen (300 million Euro, 3 Billion Krone) and the whole complex will cost 65 billion Yen. It's not the NHK that pays the most for this tower, the Tobu Railway Company is the main investor with 50 Billion Yen. They own the site and are also building their new headquarters next to the Sky Tree. The NHK and 5 other main TV stations will hire the tower to broadcast the digital signals all over greater Tokyo.

OK, 2 pictures from 12/11 from the same blogger as D.D. quoted, she got a nice view.

I like how she mainly writes about the Sky Tree and her favourite Korean boyband on her blog, a fantastic combination.

Yeah, Sky Tree will be East Asia's tallest structure, beating the upcoming Shanghai Tower by 2 meters. But Burj Dubai will be the tallest in all of Asia...and the world...and in history.

Soudesuka (or is it "Soka"= I see). How far from Ryōgoku will TST be, can you walk between them and are they on the same transit line(looks like not)?? Maybe more companys will join Tobu Railway Company and build thire HQ's near TST, Tokyo needs more "action" towards the rivers-area../THX

All of Tokyo is very walk-able, but it helps if you know your bearings.

The Sky Tree is about 2 kilometer from Ryogoku and doesn't have a direct rail connection with the Sky Tree, but you have 2 options with 1 change.

The Sky Tree already grown a bit since Friday morning.

True - but some people here are not privy to the technical aspects of construction. VRS is a regular here even if his posts are somewhat predictable.

This thing is springing up like a weed. There can't be too many more "levels" before the first pod ?

The update coverage is great too - 1685 pics in the collection so far.
