Is the tower which is being built in conjunction with Tokyo sky tree the new Tobu Railway Headquarters? And will that be built on the site of the existing old headquarters which are being demolished?

1st of all:

Ne official Height:

245 m

http://www.tokyo-skytree.jp/

blog.goo.ne.jp/1walker

Secondly:

The new 160m tower that also on the whole Sky Tree complex will indeed be the new Tobu HQ, it's not on the site of the current HQ but on the side of the Sky Tree.

Thirdly:

Christmas Illumination.

It only really works for the cranes, the green on the tower doesn't really show from a distance.

And one from an interesting angle.

Love this last shot! One of the best I've seen of TST so far! But also, it's a really great perspective of tower and city....

yeah, it is really nice. Reminds me of that one render of the Russia tower, where it is the top and the background is the river, bending in the same way as this river

Thanks Momo, on second inspection of one of the renderings for the site it seems that there is a smaller building planned for construction on the site of the old Tobu HQ.

The Sky Tree would look even greater in the center of Tokyo instead of the outlying Sumida-ku. It would be a plus for the skyline.

Are you kidding? This particular thread has a huge number of excellent photos thanks to Momo and others which has documented every detail of it's progress. The only thing I can think of that I'd like to see in a new photo is another shot from the top which reveals the inside and how much the triangle shape has turned circular. I can tell by a few photos that those three corner tubes have gradually moved towards the core while others have moved outwards. It appears that it's much closer to being a circle than a triangle but I'm not quite sure if it's all the way there yet.
The reason you've seen so many posts complimenting the photos is because this project has been photographed from every angle you can think of and we seem to get new ones everyday which have made it very interesting.

Yes new core parts, that should make the tower higher then 248.1m, the height of the Midtown Tower, Tokyo's highest skyscraper (not counting the antenna of the NTT Docomo building in Yoyogi). The next target should be the 296m of the Yokohama Landmark Tower, Japans highest skyscraper and after that the 333m of the Tokyo tower.

let's continue with some pictures.

Picture come around come around every so often, I will post them if I see them.

But here are some from that angle since the construction on the the builders website (up to last month):

Indeed, great updates of Tokyo Sky Tree

In the below photo, the area "inside" will be?

Wow, it would be the tallest one among Shinjuku skyscrapers as of today with "only" 245m. Great shots!

What a gorgeous tower. I'm still not convinced, however, that this tower will mesh with Tokyo very well. It seems that its height is so tall that it will stick out like a sore thumb, and that two dominating towers will do nothing to make the skyline look dense or great. With the Tokyo Sky Tree and Tokyo Tower dominating the skyline, it will make the other buildings look smaller in comparison regardless of their height and make the skyline look worse. Just my opinion.
