the height difference looks extreme, just crazy ....almost twice the height

But never mind, it's now less then a month before the official start of the construction, that's what really matters!

It's not called the "Sumida Tower" anymore, Tokyo Sky Tree" is the new name.

And with Yoko you probably don't mean Yoko Ono but Yokohama and then the answer is probably not from the ground but from a building it should be visible at around 30 km distance. But only with a clear view, so most of the days you still won't see it.

I was in Asakusa visiting the Kaminarimon as well as other various temples on 5/25/08. I was walking along the Sumida River and I saw the Sumida Tower image on a building.
