Great diagram...
But one question... Where are at present basements of cranes towers? Because I suppose cranes basements are actually on higher level than in diagram...

There are some around the historic district in Asakusa; they're for tourists.

Am always wondering how did the workers construct the big crane up there?

They put the cranes up when the tower was still low, even under 50m high. Then it could be lifted of with another crane. It will be more interesting to see how they are going to dismantle the cranes when the finished, I guess they lift up a light crane that will lower the big cranes in parts to the ground.

And the tower of the tower cranes probably ends or starts depending on how you look at it not far under the top. They don't come down completely and are also not visible on the place where the nets have been removed.

New official height;
379m

www.tokyo-skytree.co.jp

Today (05/17), my pictures from far away in Odaiba.

The haze cleared up a bit.

They actually raised one of the cranes.

And later on the day they even put up a new core part.

5/17 blog round-up.

Making the 379m already outdated.

5/18 blog round up #1

tokyo-sky-tree.seesaa.net/

This would make the tower around 390m high and that is already the target for this month.

@NegaSado

hmm maybe, probably not. I would like to go, maar ik denk dat ik dan niet genoeg vakantie dagen meer heb van mijn werk.

Today, again from somewhat further away but from st. Luke hospital you can get a pretty good view.

5/18 blog round up #2

On the site a new part has been delivered that we had never seen before, will it be for the pod or the next level of the tower?

Plus a new tower crane for the surrounding buildings.
