To tell the truth, it doesn't look that like a 2000 footer, not that there are many examples. Im not sure the design was the best but the tower is definitely stunning.

If they are smart, but who knows. They go from 3 to 4 cranes, that's the only reason why I said crane not cranes.

05/25 quick blog update:

tokyo-sky-tree.seesaa.net/

We actually see a first part for 1 of the cranes that will be on the pod.

If it's not raining it's quite hazy with the humid air coming in from the ocean.

Can anybody guess from where I took this picture?

And this morning I was feeling sick, so I decided to go to the Sky Tree to make me feel better.

Looking at Culwulla's diagram, how high will the crane(s) go? To the roof at 495 m? Then antenna will be helicopter's job?

The cranes will go up to the roof (500m high), the rest of the tower will be jacked up from the inside the core to it's final height of 634m.

Momo, I wish I could take pics as great as yours.

I can't believe Skytree is already higher than the CN Tower's main deck...

Wow! Great updates! Will Tokyo Sky Tree have rotating restaurant like some other observation towers (e.i. Space Needle, Stratosphere, and CN Tower)?

5/28 quick blog round up:

They put another core part on top of the tower yesterday, raising the height to +/- 399m.

-impressive!

They went from no podium at all, to a perfectly outlined one in a matter of a few days.
