There's a chunk missing off the bottom of the lower building.

Are you sure the scale between the buildings is correct? 35 meters difference between Guangzhou and Tokyo is smaller lets say than a random 35 meter section on Tokyo sky tree

Thats because there is a lot of other stuff going on atm as well, like the first pod is still getting cladding, the top of the tower is getting finished as well as the the spire on the inside.

Is there any information about what this tower uses to be able to withstand an earthquake?

Something about how this tower rose so fast because all the workers were on viagra while building it? Wait, nevermind, maybe that's not such a good idea.

Interestingly enough some "vibration control devices" were delivered to the site today. But the main protection is in the very over the top foundation for the tower and the concrete core with the steel frame around it. The concrete core will be built inside of the steel core, I don't know if they have started it yet.

11/19 blog round up

2nd pod construction,

it's going pretty fast with all the big steel parts.

On the outside of the 2nd pod there will be the glass walkway, the parts are being assembled at the base of the tower.
