Yes it has its own thread.
Of course in the Japan forum, I don't know if it has one in the highrise section.

Haha, what a comparison!! Seriously though, it is expected of the Japanese to finish things in time, kind of, and the Saudis to be behind schedule most of the time. I am talking about keeping to the construction schedule.

ban!!!

never thought i would say this, but the tower looks smaller to me than it did before. i think it is because of the shorter tower. i kind of wish it would not have been as tall to give the skytree a more monstrous effect.

Are those antennas being installed? And if so, what kind?

I'm fascinated by what kind of impact this will have on wireless communications in the area.

Those are wireless. Using many antennas, each only covering 10 degrees allows them to reuse the same frequencies a lot more.

If the render is right, and it's 36 antennas around, there will be 1440 antennas up there. All for wireless phone/data I imagine. Broadcast antennas will be different.

I'm wondering about the render though. If there's 7 sections left to raise and they're 10 meters apiece, it only comes to 619 meters total. I'm not sure where the other 15 went.

I wonder if some of that netting will remain? It would keep birds away.

Well, that method is actually used a bit too often in Japan to keep the birds away especially on old buildings. I hope that they know that pigeons like to stay lower to the ground....

The tower is specially built for Digital TV signals, I assume that those are the same "0 and 1's" as digital wireless data.

And there will only be 6 sections that are 10 meters, below those there will be 2 much bigger antenna sections. So that's where the lost meters probably have gone.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And a new height update for January was posted on the bulletin boards around the building site.
The tower will grow to 569m this month, this means that the spire will be raised 2 times in the coming weeks.
