I was looking at the render in post 5041. I guess that was just someone's idea and not the official design.

I think it's very impressive and very ugly and the same time.

Guangzhou did so much better when it comes to aesthetics IMO!
But I like it anyway.

I noticed the big sections, but I just took them to be two ten meter sections without the divider.

There's no such thing a digital radio waves. The digital part is just the type of modulation. and the antenna doesn't know or care about that. The only thing that matters is frequency. Most wireless gear is high frequency and can use very small antennas, which would make a difference in tower design. Those antennas look small in the picture, but they're acually 6 or 7 feet high and each radome probably contains several antenna elements. The signals will range from 700 Mhz to 5.8 Ghz (That's US, Japan may be a little different) so the actual antennas wouldn't all be the same.

i believe it is only at 549m currently. correct me if i am wrong, that is just due to post #5082 being the last raise before the current one seen in post #5088

Look at post 5072. It was 549 before the latest jump. Now it's 559.

my bad. i see my mistake and i apologise. however due to the schedule i previously miss-read it says that it will be 569m by the end of January so another rise coming before the end of the month. then around 65m left til top out this should easily be topped out in the next 2-3 months

The exact date hasn't been announced yet, but it will be when it's going to happen. All the previous major height breakthroughs have been, even in the media. So we will know in advance.
