I'll be planning a trip with the wife in 2012 when it opens. Although they said 'you can't go back again', you should.

Heavy snow in Tokyo tonight, might make for some surreal photographs in next few hours...

Thanks CULWULLA

Interesting to note that Observation Decks since 1976 (CN tower), have only managed an increase of 20-35 meters in the space of 35 yrs. That makes it approx 1m per yr increase

The Tokyo Sky Tree is so ominous. I love it.

Guangzhou TV Tower thread is in DN Archives and closed for posting. Is Guangzhou Tower completely complete, and all promised features operational and open for public, such as pod ride at the top?

It's massive in comparison with the surrounding area, which is not a fault of the tower itself, but I think that with another design, and materials, it'd be a much more interesting building.
Tokyo buildings are pretty much spread out. There's no big concentration of modern skyscrapers like you see in New York or Chicago. Its all scattered out. But once you're in a build-up area, the shops, hotels, train stations etc are all efficiently connected. You'll be amaze at the retail & shopping setups! Go there & see for yourself.

It is scheduled to pass the 600m this month, with the topping out in March. But there is some delay because of the antenna's that haven't been delivered on time and the cold weather won't help speeding things up either. We'll have to see if when it will be reached.

I came by to look at the pictures of this thing, and I must say... DAMN! This thing is a beast. I love how you can see it from literally anywhere in the city. I applaud the city of Tokyo.
