People made it sound like it was lucky that this thing, the biggest architectural marvel of the country, was not "destroyed" by this. That's ridiculous, look at how all the shotty POS apartment buildings, which I know exist over there, have survived so many earthquakes. Large buildings are built incomparably better.
This thing would probably survive if the world was turned sideways and it was horizontal.

There are prospects that we (Japan) will have another great earthquake soon (70 percent certain). The plant is extremely delicate. If it does break, Tokyo and its surronding will get affected so from that perspective, it would be way worse than Chernobyl. It is scrary!!!

Well, if the next big earthquake doesn't happen "soon", it will just be "later". As always, the question is not "if?" but "when?"

Damnit, Japan has a very dedicated people with strong respect to each other and care to your cities. They just don't deserve such tragedy.

That is why, technically, it's better to have more smaller quakes once in a while that causes the pressure in the earths crust to drop than a 'big one' every 100 years.

I think that a change is taking place in the whole earth.
Please be careful about the country of all of you.
Please check earthquake-resistance strength.
The next year is the most dangerous in Sexagenary cycle.
The nuclear power generation is really dangerous.

By the way, the tube of the Tokyo sky tree is a snake.
The digital electric wave delivers it in 2013.
2013 is the snake year.

More smaller quakes? Japan has a quake every 5 min, how could it be more?
and what they call "small quakes" would devestate moste other parts of the world.

Work has started again on Monday, although at first it's just testing the cranes.

Some scaffolding on top of the 2nd pod doesn't look too good.

The official website also updated, the message that work has stopped on Saturday was replaced by a message that the information plaza will be closed today. The official height was also updated to 625m.

Few aftershocks on 1 and 2 scale in Tokyo today. Those guys have some metal to work up there today!

We await the M7 or greater in next day or 2,, Ibaraki area has been having quite a few strong tremors. Fukushima just had a 6.3 close to the 9.0 location and a 5.3 a few minutes later, much closer to the coast.

9 meters to top out!

I would think that an inspection of every inch of the cranes would take a long time. I guess not.

It will be topped out, not finished. The whole complex will consume a bit more time.

Mate, get some fu#$ing perspective, there's plenty of time to talk about concrete and steel, I think we can spare a few posts talking about a catastrophe that Japan has suffered and wishing the best for the brave people of Japan

Just when you think you've already heard the stupidest possible comment in the universe, somebody tops it.
