Could be a hoax, it's a strange coincidence.

Wow, love the aerial views, first time I've seen those since it topped out. Really shows how it just dwarfs absolutely everything else in it's vicinity. It helps that it appears to be in a low rise residential or shopping district area. How far away is the downtown/financial district (tall building part) of Tokyo from the sky tree?

Gorgeous areal photos! This thing dwarves everything around it. Many more towers need to be built around it

With that big dampner on top and no antennas on the bottom, the top piece kind of looks like it was installed upside down.

There are several high-rise clusters in Tokyo but within the biggests, closest one is the CBD of Marunouchi (between Tokyo station and the Imperial palace) it's 4-5 km straight from the Skytree and approx 20 min by train.

Can you imagine if the top of Sky Tree had thrill rides like those at the top of Stratosphere in Las Vegas? I can't...

Yeah, a Thrill Ride plus a magnitude 7 earthquake at the same time, will be really a thrilling experience when balancing on the edge of life and death! not my cup of tea but hey, who said I won't encourage it though?! :-)
