Is similar to WiFi transmitters. The further you go from the source, the lower the available bandwidth will be. The thing is the bandwidth needs to be at some specific nr., even at the edge of the city otherwise you'll get sound or video artefacts, lost of services, etc, etc.

Read some more please.
What does Noise Ratio have to do with the fact that Digital Broadcast is less susceptible to interference, even at distance?.Also, why would you be concerned with Digital Electromagnetic Radiation from a Global Digital Standard that is under the governance of the Japanese Government. If you have issues with the Sky Tree transmission tower itself, then take that up with the Japanese Authorities themselves.

Ah, the Government... Good question, isn't it?

@Nomadd22

Except for you misinterpreting or not understanding my words and posting quotes from unknown links, I see your hobby is just to pretend to be smart, just like that from your avatar. And you are not in the position to make demands on how to post or not, since this is a free forum. If you don't like my opinions just ignore them and get over with. Personally I'm done with this subject, I've said what I've had to say, and that's it.
Back to the topic now.

I don't think you're going to have much much arguing with the tinfoil hat crowd GoluBoy.
They insist airport scanners are dangerous, ignoring the simple fact that the flight at that altitude subjects them to hundreds of times as much radiation. They cry over cell towers frying their brains, refusing to acknowledge the fact that the cellphone they're using subjects it to a much higher signal at the same frequencies. They call 5 watts "high power" and call antennas with 10 degrees of horizontal coverage "omnidirectional"
All government authorities are in on the conspiracy to give you cancer and only some discredited kook they read on the internet can be trusted.
They insist on the right to post whatever garbage they want in someones forum, but decry your responses as intolerant. Their posts are full of words and terms they obviously don't understand.
I don't refer to links because I don't "quote" anything. I do this stuff for a living. My resources aren't something I read on the WWW.

And, the avatar's name is Yombe. He's a local I met while bringing radio and phone communications to a remote part of Congo-Brazzaville. He didn't say much. Then again, he didn't ever say anything stupid beyond measure.

Hi all.

Hi Nomadd.
Respect ...
Well said - nice to see someone here who knows his stuff and doesn't sling mud.

The tree looks awesome.
I can't help but think about the vid posted here from near the base, just after the big quake. I know lots about the need for tall structures to be flexible and the amount they can sway at the top, but to see the top of the tree moving in relation to the pods during an aftershock was/is just mindblowing.

Ray.

Hey Fury. I'm getting a little muddy. I keep expecting the mods to toss me and the doctor out the hatch.
I think I remember Momo saying that the quake actually sped up topping out a little. They wanted to get the spire up and fastened down for any aftershocks. I have to keep reminding myself how huge that unguyed section is on top, that it needs that big damper at the peak. I'm not exactly sure if it's just for the antenna section or the whole tower.

Hi Nomadd,

The enclosed damper at the top is mainly for the spire, but since every structure also works as a complete system it helps the whole tower to not sway too much during a quake.
Other damper are located between the concrete "heavy" core and the outer skeleton at different points throughout the tower making the core a giant mass damper

ps: thanks for the demystification concerning radio waves and cancer

Thanks Culture. Must have been fun trying to calculate the motions and stresses of that monster.
That tower could be Archimedes' lever.

Zen said that most tall buildings see more stress from a hurricane than they do from earthquakes, but with the open structure of the Sky Tree and the level of quakes Tokyo could see, I doubt if that's true here. Ney York will probably never see a 7.0 earthquake.

More likely for making you another ignorant, hehe. No offense intended.
Like I've said, you don't have to take my word for it. Just use the WWW if you want more info.
Here, even wikipedia is a good start:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electro...ion_and_health

Sure there is a LOT of denial, but if you dig deeper....

In the big thing on top of the spire there are 2 tuned mass dampers.

05/28 video,

in the pouring rain the remaining bits of the crane were lifted of the tower.

3 to go.
