they are beggining to plant trees in the complex. Even the roof of the buildings of the sky tree complex will have trees.

Are those platforms in between the two pods going to be permanent? They don't appear in the renders...

To transmit TV signals. It's an antenna, not a spire.

This video is a bit old (was filmed just two days after the earthquake in March), but it features some pretty killer views of the topped out Sky Tree.

I hope this clears your doubts... its a 1/25 scale model.

I see. I'm not really sure yet if I like them, makes that part of the tower look a bit like a hairbrush.

Oh, so they are going to stay? What are they for?
I quite like the shape they add to the tower, they make it less "classic".

But they really need to add something to "cover" the bottom part of the spire/antenna. It looks unfinished now. Why not put fake antennas until real ones are needed?

I think it looks pretty interesting. It gives it a unique look that other buildings/tower's spires/antennas don't have :p

I received the two Tokyo Sky Tree model kits I bought.
The Tomytec one is really cool, lightning changes smoothly (it has 3 leds)

Hi. I bought them on Ebay. Just search for "Tokyo Sky Tree". There are products from different companies, including the two models I have (Tomytec, Doyusha). I guess there will be more items available, and more sellers, in the coming months.
