It's good to know the city is planning to plant trees. I know that in Japan space is vital - I guess that is why some part of the city do not even have sidewalks - but I also think that it would be so much better to have more greenery, not just in public parks or wealthy areas.
They already explained you that your assumption that there are "few or none trees on the streets of Tokyo" is completely false. Check posts 6234 and 6235 again.

And the people that are living on the small streets tend to use the small spaces between the road and the houses and between the other houses as real gardens. You have many green walls and you often see many pots with flowers along the road.

11/01 blog round-up

The last crane, number 7 was taken down today. The pictures make it very clear how that was done. All the little pieces of the crane were small enough for the elevator.

If you count towers like this as supertalls then this is the 2nd one in Tokyo after the Tokyo Tower.

A sign on the perimeter of the Tokyo Sky Tree site advertises the commitment of all the construction companies involved to ensuring no yakuza involvement in the project.

Nice tower, I especially like its top section. However, some of the uniforms are so old fashion looking a scene from 1920s
