Wow I was looking through my videos and saw my video from May 18th 2010 of Sky Tree

It was only 379m here and the east tower (the office building) wasn't even off the ground.

I'm going to take a video like this again around new years to see the huge difference

Awesome photos!

Great to see this new Japan's landmark is going to open soon. I need to visit it when I have a chance to go to Tokyo again.

Tokyo is beautiful anytime. What you have to say is Tokyo by night is magic. And your avatar is disturbing though.!

They are taken from "I-link town Ichikawa". You can also go to Hokutopia Tower..look at this post to see that view: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpo...&postcount=461

Also you can see sky tree from: Sunshine city in Ikebukuro, Roppongi Hills in Roppongi, Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building in Shinjuku (free), Bunkyo civic center (free) and Tokyo Tower..and many more but those are the most known ones. If from street level, Asakusa will be the most popular place (but not necessarily the best to take it.)

The Bunkyo civic center has the famous view of Shinjuku + Mount Fuji (but no Sky Tree, but you can see sky tree from the observatory just not with Shinjuku)

BTW if you have more questions about visiting Japan please use this thread: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1397592

It looks so mystical with Fuji behind the skyscrapers. Just one of these views when I feel something intense.

Is that still scaffolding around the spire, that would be removed later? I hop so, because a needle-like tip is much more attractive

Nope, the spire will remain as it is now.

In top there are 2 tuned mass dampers making sure the spire won't break off in a typhoon or an earthquake.

The Tokyo Tower (332.6m).

The tallest building is the Landmark Tower in Yokohama (295.8m) until the Abano Harukas in Osaka (300m) is completed in a couple of years.
