Am I missing something? In the two first pictures in post #6482, it's a giant shadow in the middle. What's casting the shadow? Looks way too thick for a cloud.

[EDIT]: Guess it must be a cloud, very dark shadow in my opinion.

Awesome tower nevertheless.

Still, cities like London and Tokyo take time to get out of, even on rail (and that's usually the easiest way - let the train take the strain )

My wife comes from the north of Tokyo (Kita-ku) and she says she grew tired of the 'density' of Tokyo but she has never expressed any dislike of its size, indeed she loves city life. That said, our current life in a small(ish) English town is a world apart from Tokyo. Make of that little anecdote what you will.

Anyway, I don't think size matters unless you have some need to get around it all. Perhaps being a salesman or delivery guy in Tokyo sucks...? OTOH that's a hell of an economy on your doorstep
>>>
Doomlord, am living right next to Kita-ku (living in Arakawa-ku, the poorest Ku in Tokyo - nice bragging rights there!) Its quite packed but compared to other wards like Meguro-ku it feels like countryside in comparison - you get used to it but after several years here you miss the beautiful English landscape. For sure, being able to walk out the door and train-hop anywhere is a boon (except when they delay)

Tokyo is what it is - a cluster of several different cities with little gaps between them and that's what makes it such an interesting place to inhabit. The view from the Sky Tree on a clear winters day will be something awesome.

Never been a fan of this structure but I have to admit I like it better than I thought I would.
