That's an intense amount of what I assume is safety netting. Is this due to suicide concerns? I experienced first hand the kind of precautions in day to day life the japanese take to prevent "accidents".

I'm going to be in Tokyo in three days, so I'll try my best to take some photos of the Sky Tree. I may not have time, but I am going to Asakusa, so it shouldn't be too much of a detour.

I'm guessing that the safety netting is there to catch any tool or loose material that might accidentally be dropped and possibly hit a worker below. Due to the unusual shape and construction of this project they've had to go to alot of extra effort to set it up. This can be dangerous work and I recall many years ago when I lived in Seattle that a worker fell over 40 stories to his death on a skyscraper construction site. I've also wondered how they get the workers into those cranes and into those areas where the pieces are attached.

They cranes will indeed be raised again this month. The current height of the cranes is 84m but this month the tower is going to grow to 90m, they have to raise them to make the planned progress possible.

I love Japanese limited edition drinks. I wish I had thought to stock up on Pocari Sweat or Calpis while I was in Osaka last summer... Ah well.

Wonderful pictures as usual, this tower is rising so fast!

thinking that the rising bit of the tower is only small part of the tower, it wont rise TOO fast as a whole tower.

Is 29 meters in 1 month not fast? That's like a meter per day.
