"oh come on man burj dubai is 800m and it took so long and how could they please build a tower twice the height of burj dubai its not possible -.- " but i think it will happen if they build that mega tall one planed in dubai

@ topic
The Sky Tree fits perfect in that area and will give it some uniqueness

Tokyo should have had something like this a long time ago. Too bad the Millennium Tower was never built...But better late with this one, than never I suppose. It's looking great too, going very fast. Thanks for the updates Momo1435!

Gotcha, thx for the info, Unsing

At this speed god only knows where this tower will be at by christmas or new year?!

I have not seen any blog post about the projected growth in August, but the 1st day already looks promising.

8/1 blog round-up #2

Yes, they will raise the cranes this week.

512colors.blog120.fc2.com/

They actually started today with the 1st preparations.

tokyo2ndtower.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/

Go to the blog for some video's
http://tokyo2ndtower.cocolog-nifty.c...post-2791.html

And we got a new height target, this time not for this month but already for October. Then it will be 170 meters high, that's 80 meter in 3 months.

It looks like they are going to remove the recent scaffolding as the tower grows. Then we got the scaffolding of the base, a part with out scaffolding and the scaffolding attached to the steel parts on top.

On the bulletin board there are also some interesting pictures from above.

512colors.blog120.fc2.com/

And some more pictures from today.

Good, good. It'll be a good height then when I visit. 170m is enough to be prominently in view from most other buildings.

i'm sure this has been asked before, but is that bottom part scaffolding or part of the tower itself?

Scaffolding.

Different question: Will the elevator(s) have transparent walls? I just wonder what that pattern looks like from the inside.

Great update! Geeez the cranes are getting swallowed up by the structure already! Interesting to see the scaffolding already fixed to those pieces being lowered into place.

Another great update!!

The pictures that shows the tower from above really shows off the inner structures of the thing.

I really look forward to the point where they start to remove the temporary scaffolding in the middle, so that we get a teaser in what the completed tower will look like when it's done!
