That's true, but I've always felt that Tokyo has a distinct lack of landmarks [complete opposite of Paris]. Don't get me wrong, I love Tokyo, it's an exciting and fascinating city, a must-see city IMO, but as I was saying, really famous landmarks are few and far between here. Having said that, I think Tokyo is just fine the way it is! It is what it is, and that's why we love this city I suppose!? Tokyo Sky Tree will be an excellent addition to the skyline I think and I'm really curious to see [once it's completed] how it will enhance/compliment it's surroundings. Can't wait to see photos of a completed Sky Tree at NIGHT!

I agree, Japanese "Eiffel Tower copy" sounds just about right. Trust me, you'll have an awesome time in Tokyo. This city makes a hell of an impression on you believe me.

Hope you enjoyed your visits to Paris.

The Oshiage Narihirabashi shopping district around the tower has a new mascot called "Oshinarikun" (おしなりくん), he's got a nice hat.

Hmm...
This tower is still short in length. It's still not even a quarter of it's full height yet.
Hope you're not getting heart attack when it is in full length.

Of course they will be visible to each other.

Last month this picture was printed in the Yomiuri Shimbun newspaper.

Do both towers share the same function? If they are both served as the same function like TV or Radio broadcast, why are they close approximately to each other like this?

Yes, there is a webcam.

http://www.rising-east.jp/webcam/

The only thing is that it only works between 9:00~17:00 JST. That's between 2:00 and 10:00 for us living in the CEST timezone, so you can only watch it very late at night or in the morning.
