Almost time for yet another crane jump. The weather in Tokyo looks like it has been pretty good for most of the project. What is it generally like in the summer, and coming months ahead?

In the beginning of the summer it the rainy season (June to July), after that it almost becomes subtropical, hot and humid. In September is the high season for Typhoons, a bit more rain but still high temperatures. In October the weather becomes better to visit Tokyo, still warm enough but less humid.

At the pictures of the people that take a picture every day you can clearly see the differences between the days. Sometimes it's very clear, other days are much hazy or wet. On other pictures it could indeed look like Tokyo always has good weather. But that's because it's much better to go to the site for some pictures on a nice day.

what are all those things sticking out of the structure?
are they to hold the temporary scaffolding, and will get chopped off later.
Or are they for something else, and what?
the structure is also amazingly almost completely seamless at the joins.

What's that yellow tower thing sticking up? Are they jumping a crane?

Yup probably jacking it up. .

And about the scaffolding removal, probably they ran out of scaffolding, so they got rid of some in the lower parts and now they can rebuild it on a higher part.

Anything this big dominates the skyline just by itself.

Everything about the construction is carefully planned. So it's not a case of running out of scaffolding, they already put up a drawing on the notice boards around the site were it was clearly visible that the scaffolding would be removed during construction. And that the scaffolding would be on 4 levels of construction like they are now.

But the scaffolding will indeed be used for the next level. They will probably start with that next level later this week, even before the jacking up of all the cranes hasn't finished yet. Although it only has to grow 2 meters to reach the August target until Monday, it won't be a big part that's going up.

I had the same thoughts as MattTheTubaGuy regarding all of the various attachments to the tube after the scaffolding had been removed. Someone had mentioned awhile back that they would likely start to dismantle the scaffolding towards the bottom and this appears to be the very first one that's been done. I makes me think they would probably reuse that same scaffolding at a higher level although I realize that the shape and distance between the levels appear to get smaller the higher you go. If they were going to remove all of those attachments it seems like it would really be a huge job. I'm really enjoying watching this tower being constructed and it's especially interesting to check the thread often because it's going so fast.
And thanks to those who are providing such great photos, it's really appreciated.
