It already does.

Great scale model! I bet once the tower is ready they will put it next to the entrance lobby so people can see it how it looks like

Wow! By the looks of it they are going ot have to jump the cranes again in 2 weeks! The speed and the amount of progress on the Sky Tree is amazing!

still going fast!
I am making a LEGO model of the Tokyo Sky Tree.
it is approximately 1:100 scale, and I have only done the outside so far up to 100m or so, or not quite up to where the real one is now.

By mattbennett at 2009-09-02
after I have built the middle, the outside will have the curve.

I understand the bottom scaffolding, but the top half has what look like box tents all over the place....what are those?

That's also scaffolding, the platforms around the joints between the big steel parts are covered with with plastic and the rest just with nets. It's already attached to the parts when they go up and will be removed later on as you can see in middle part were the structure is visible.

Hi all.

I think they are welding platforms. Closed in to stop the wind. I imagine there are many hours of welding and many passes on those big pipes (just a guess - 20 hours ?). After that they most likely test the weld using x-ray or some other method then probably stress relieve the area. Then priming and coating before letting the weather get to the joint.

Great updates Momo (and others). This is one of the projects I am watching and saving pics from.
