eh

I'm not a big fan of this building as it will take over my beloved Diwang building in height as the new #1 in Shenzhen, although its not a totally bad design. Here's a photo I took a few months ago. Been meaning to get over there and take some more shots. It's really going up quickly now...

oh, and here's a shot from the building site about 2 years ago before they really started construction.

nailhouse on the building site

here's a bunch of pictures of the last remaining nailhouse at the site of the kingkey plaza. i didnt really know what was going on, but i knew it must be a nailhouse when i saw it. later reports in the news confirmed this. i think the owners got a ton of cash for the resettlement. these were all taken in spring 2007.

Hey ThaQuest, long time I didn't hear anything from you :-)
Cool to see you're still in Shenzhen, and nice pics as usual!

The Diwang building has been Shenzhen's tallest since 1996, which is pretty amazing when you think about the pace at which the city has been growing! Even with Kingkey completed, it will remain an awesome building, and also will still be China's tallest steel skyscraper! And also the world's tallest green skyscraper, a very important category that is often overlooked ;-)

深圳不是有平安中心吗 多高算高呢 这个高度跟周围的建筑还是比较协调的 更高反而不好
