Look at the picture above your post. Ping'an will be in the cluster you can see in the distance.

Shenzhen gov. is always inviting HK to develop this area but I can't figure out why HK never take any interest in there.

Yea, is such a waste of land, just imagine how crowded and jam are the buildings in central hk, and they leave a huge plot of empty flat land for nothing? I mean just by develop this side of hk will increase the average personal living space in hk, I'm not joking, 7million hkers live in the tiny Kowloon and Hk islands. And this plot of land has no human activity, it wont against anyone's interest by develop it, but I dunno, HK always sacrifice the interest of the whole city for a few farmers sake, I'm not sure if thats what really democracy means, such as the zhuhai, hongkong ,macau bridge slow progress. If HK keep being reluctant from development along the other pearl river cities, they will soon be left behind.

No its best to keep that plot of land the way it is. There are a lot of problems associate with it if HK decides to build high rises on it.

They seem to be testing the lighting tonight - the top bit is white and the rest of the tower is cycling red, green. blue - looks like there are a few places where the lights aren't connected up yet, though.

how is agriculture a waste of land use? it's good for political entities to at least try to sustain themselves, instead of wholly relying on the global food network.

There are tons of place in mainland which is far more suitable for farming than HK,which is a city thats not suppose to farm anyway, land of city should be use to develop not farm, thats why city is city, countryside is countryside, even a big park is better than farming.
