Yeah, Shenzhen is right across the border from the Hong Kong SAR. However, the area right across the border from Shenzhen (in Hong Kong) is protected farmland so they can only build low density there .

Per latest report, there are still some pending issues with the land acquisition, look at the pink building on the site...

The case has been on court for half a year. Hope it can be settled soon.

move over already, just that one pink house surely can't be an obstacle, look at the ground that surrounds it. The foundations of the site alone must surely be big enough to support the Kingkey Plaza scheme.

Just crush the house! How can that little pink block stand in the way of the really gorgeous looking tower?

I guess, people won't go out.
Look at the balconery, I think this is a banner protesting against this projekt.

Look it is a beautiful skyscraper but china forces thousands of people every year out of their homes. Sometimes the just buldoze them away. I think its a good thing that these people show that its their right to live here.

On the other hand it would be very pity if this building gets rejected because of this. I hope these people get a nice new house but i doubt it, you know its china

It will not be rejected because of that pink house, sooner or later those residents will be either booted or forced out for hampering development. My mum who's a fellow citizen of Shenzhen says it's commonplace for residents who have been given notice to vacate premises but there are people who will protest, but won't the government rehouse them.
