Yep, it was posted by me and I got some brickbats for not writing executive summary of this report while sharing the link.

Easily the best airport in India, by a long shot!

For once, a job well done in all aspects.

I think we should stop comparing Delhi becoz obviously this would be the best in India for its size until Mumbai is completed (may be both would be good in there own perspective).

I would like to see how Delhi stands compared to other major Asian airports and things DIAL should be catching up to be on par

Improvements I would like:

1. Government officials at the airport and taxi drivers should have a better attitude towards people.
2. Old shabby ambassador cabs need to be scrapped ASAP and replaced with swanky New York style taxis.
3. Volvo service like Bangalore from Delhi airport to the city.
4. Reducing the prices of things you buy at the airport. The mark up on most things at DIAL (and other airports) is huuge. It needs/should come down at least by 15-20 %.

I couldn't agree more with the above:
Old shabby ambassador cabs need to be scrapped ASAP and replaced with swanky New York style taxis.

The old taxi's should not be allowed to the airport along with three wheeler's. If one has to get to the airport via a taxi a radio taxi should need be used. The governments needs to be on DIALs side in banning the old taxi's from coming to the airport and not make it into a political issue.

oh please. Its inhuman to not let some of the cabbies make money just because their car doesnt suit your standards.

I think the same cab drivers should get the new cars and some basic training in how to handle customers.

its going to come at a cost which the taxi owner has to bear. The cabs however should be clean and as long as they are following the norms it doesnt really matter if we have a black and yellow Amby or a lamborghini.

Thats the best option. Train the same taxi drivers, give them some loans at easy credit for better modern cars, don't bring in new guys, ensure the taxi drivers problems are looked into, coach them on being nice to people (especially women-some female relatives of mine have had horrible experiences with Delhi airport taxi drivers ) and of course if you can get them to stick to the meter, nothing like it.

Since when were those Ford Crown Victorias swanky? Even Toyota Camrys aren't. The leg space in those cars are so bad.

Compared to an Ambassador, a Crown Vic (even with a taxi package) is luxury!

Anyways, the Crown Vics are on their way out as Ford is no longer manufacturing them. Now it'll be mostly minivans.

Your standards of luxury are different from general standards. Here Camry is a luxury car.
